Braves soccer coach awarded by United Soccer Coaches
The Indian Hill School District congratulated Indian Hill High School Head Girls Soccer Coach Amy Dunlap for being named the 2025 National High School Girls Small Public School Coach of the Year by United Soccer Coaches, one of the nation’s leading soccer organizations. The prestigious national honor recognizes Dunlap’s exceptional leadership, sustained excellence, and lasting impact on student-athletes over more than three decades at Indian Hill High School.
“I am deeply honored and humbled to receive this national award and grateful for the support that made it possible,” said Coach Dunlap. “This recognition reflects the values of Indian Hill Women’s Soccer, demonstrated by players and staff whose commitment, resilience, and belief in one another create something truly special. This award belongs to all the young women who have played for Indian Hill, the dedicated coaching staff who invest daily in their growth, and the larger community of families and supporters who stand behind them. Helping young women grow as students, athletes, and leaders is my passion, and it is both a privilege and an honor to represent Indian Hill on this national stage.”
“This national recognition is incredibly well-deserved and speaks to the remarkable standard Amy Dunlap has set for our athletic program and our school district,” said Indian Hill Athletic Director Brian Phelps. “Her success goes far beyond wins and championships. She develops young women of character, builds a culture of excellence, and represents Indian Hill with integrity at the highest level of high school athletics.”
In her 31 years as head coach at Indian Hill High School, Dunlap has compiled an impressive 364-116-67 career record, led her teams to seven Final Four appearances, and captured back-to-back Ohio State Championships in 2017 and 2018. Her players have earned 36 All-Ohio, 21 All-Region, and eight All-America honors, including one Gatorade Player of the Year and Ohio Ms. Soccer. More than 40 student-athletes from her program have gone on to compete at the collegiate level.
In addition to her coaching accomplishments, Dunlap teaches advanced mathematics at Indian Hill High School and is widely respected for mentoring student-athletes both on and off the field. Her program emphasizes not only competitive excellence, but also leadership, inclusion, and personal growth.
“Amy’s influence can be seen in the confidence, discipline, and leadership her players carry with them long after they leave the field,” Phelps added. “She is a role model for coaches and educators everywhere.”
“This national honor underscores the powerful role educators play beyond the classroom,” said Indian Hill Interim Superintendent Dr. Melissa Stewart. “Coach Dunlap’s influence reaches far beyond wins and championships — she teaches leadership, resilience, and integrity, helping student-athletes grow into successful adults. Indian Hill is fortunate to have her as both a teacher and a coach.”
Dunlap will be formally recognized at the United Soccer Coaches Awards Ceremony on Friday, January 16, 2026, at the Philadelphia Convention Center Ballroom, held in conjunction with the organization’s 85th annual national convention.
