“Living Magazines” Welcomes NKY Couple as New Owners

Northern Kentucky couple Chris and Jessica Eden are excited to announce their purchase of Living Magazines from previous owners, Mark Collier and Erin Sendelbach. Living Magazines will now operate under Devout Pedestrian, LLC, which is owned by the Edens.

In continuous operation since 1977, Living Magazines has been a consistent source of positive news in local communities throughout Greater Cincinnati for multiple generations. Currently the publication is active in Indian Hill, Hyde Park, Wyoming and Fort Thomas. At one time, the publication was in 10 Greater Cincinnati neighborhoods.

Born and raised in Okeana, Ohio, Jessie Eden is a familiar face to many readers of Fort Thomas Living, as she returns to the magazine where she previously worked as a freelance contributor. A journalism graduate of Miami University, Jessie has built a career in Marketing, Communications and Journalism locally for over a decade, with roles in the Arts, Retail, and Healthcare industries. In 2018, she began freelancing for Mark Collier, supporting both Living Magazines and Fort Thomas Matters (now LINK nky). She also worked for LINK nky in 2023 as a Marketing Communications Specialist. Jessie will assume the role of Creative Director with a focus on storytelling in print as well as through a new website and social media platforms.

“I am so excited to dive deeper into what hyper-local community journalism looks like for our area while using a more longform, in-depth storytelling format like Living Magazines,” Jessie said. “I’ve worked in a variety of fields…but my passion has always been writing and storytelling and I’m just so thrilled to do this in the city I love.”

Chris Eden, from Silver Grove, KY, is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and has worked as a development professional at the University of Cincinnati since 2011. Chris will assume the role of Managing Director for Living Magazines, working alongside Jessie with a focus on broad strategic direction, advertising, general business operation, and finances.

“Jessie and I are incredibly excited to assume ownership of Living Magazines. We have long looked for the right entrepreneurial opportunity, and we feel that Living is the perfect fit for our broad skill sets. Jessie has significant experience in local Journalism, while I will bring over a decade of relationship management experience and an operational lens to the business,” Chris said.

Collier and Sendelbach have owned and operated Living Magazines since 2007 and decided to sell the business at the end of 2023.

“We are thrilled to announce the delightful transition of Living Magazines into the capable hands of Jessie and Chris Eden. As longtime residents of Fort Thomas, their deep connection to the community is not only rooted in the love they have for this town but also in the invaluable experience Jessie gained working with us, learning the ins and outs of our beloved magazine from the ground up. With hearts full of passion and a vision that echoes the rich history of Living Magazines since its establishment in 1977, Jessie and Chris are poised to lead the charge into an exciting new chapter. Their infectious enthusiasm and genuine commitment to community engagement promise a future filled with innovation, creativity, and a touch of familial charm. As we extend our warmest congratulations, we can’t help but envision their adorable daughter, Violet, gracing the covers of our magazines, symbolizing the bright and promising future ahead. We have every confidence that the community will wholeheartedly embrace this dynamic duo, and we eagerly anticipate the wonderful journey that lies ahead for Living Magazines under Jessie and Chris Eden’s leadership,” Collier said.

“Living Magazines will always have a special place in my heart. I started working for Jim Lied right out of college and was honored when he asked me to continue the legacy he started years ago. I’m ready to pass the baton to the Edens and excited to see where they take the company,” Sendelbach said.
