The Fort Thomas Forest Conservancy (FTFC) and the City of Fort Thomas will present the largest Earth Day celebration in Northern Kentucky on Sunday, April 27, 12:00 – 4:00 in Fort Thomas’ Tower Park.
This annual family friendly event allows guests to chat with experts to learn about locally sourced food, outdoor activities, area green organizations as well as local artists all while enjoying food and drink trucks, live music, and a lively children’s activity zone.
With a focus on interactive displays and activities, the event will host more than 50 vendors and exhibitors. Cincinnati Off-Road Alliance will lead an interpretive hike teaching sustainable trail design concepts, Campbell County YMCA will lead yoga on the lawn, Fort Thomas Tree Commission will distribute five different species of tree saplings, Homegrown on Haubner Hill will provide hands-on instruction on germinating flower seeds, Rumpke Recycling will exhibit on their expanded recycling systems, Urban Canopy Works will present on the value of trees in cities, Natural Start Pre-School will provide space, materials and instruction for children to make mandalas from natural materials and there is much, much more.
Entertainment will be Caileen Tallant (noon – 2:00) and Doug Hatt with Fresh Baked Bluegrass (2:00 – 4:00).

The Fort Thomas Forest Conservancy is a 501(3) land trust that is dedicated to preserving the city’s natural heritage. They also operate the Model Native Garden in Tower Park as well as partner with the city on the composting project. Compost from collected autumn leaves are turned into compost and then given away free to the public. You can pick up compost behind the Natural Start Pre-school in Tower Park.
