Celebrate Independence Day at the Campbell County YMCA’s Annual Firecracker 5K

Kick off your Fourth of July with a bang at the Campbell County YMCA’s beloved Annual Firecracker 5K Run/Walk, taking place the morning of Friday, July 4 in Fort Thomas!

This family-friendly tradition features something for everyone, including the Al Salvato Kids Fun Run at 7:40 a.m. No need to register—just show up ready to run the loop around the Mess Hall! Kids are encouraged to do their best, and they just might earn a refreshing treat at the finish line.

The Firecracker 5K will start at 8:15 a.m.

There is no charge for the Kids Fun Run, but in memory of Al Salvato, the YMCA will be
collecting gently used or new children’s running shoes. Donations will benefit the Brighton
Center and help inspire a love of running in local youth.

Firecracker 5K Registration Options:
· $35 – Early Registration (no shirt)
· $45 – Early Registration with shirt (unisex, moisture-wicking white tee featuring our cool
2025 design!)
· $50 – Race Day Registration (includes a shirt while supplies last)

The first 500 finishers will receive a commemorative medal, so register early and secure your spot in this fun, festive community event!

“Participating in the YMCA Firecracker 5K and Kids Fun Run has become a tradition for many local residents.” Says Nick Heiss, Campbell County YMCA, “It’s a fun, laid-back event and we encourage all runners and walkers to show off their best red, white, and blue attire to win the ‘Best Dressed’ award! Families make a full day of all the festivities that happen in Fort Thomas, which includes the parade, live music, food trucks, the new park, and good company.”
