LEAD NOW: Indian Hill sets the tone for innovation in K-12 education on state and national stages

By Indian Hill CEO/Superintendent Kirk Koennecke

LEAD NOW.

At the Indian Hill School District, this is more than our theme for the school year – this is how we do business year over year. We create opportunities for our students and our staff to innovate in education that places our district in both the national and state spotlight – on repeat. Indian Hill High School celebrates 10 students who were recognized as part of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. The Indian Hill Arts Conservatory earned statewide recognition, with six high school musicians selected for the OMEA All-State Choir and Orchestra ensembles. Our unparalleled athletic program places students among the most elite in the nation signing after signing to continue both athletic and academic careers in college. And our nationally award-winning Student Ambassador communications program continues to set the bar for student-led storytelling across the country. All lessons in leadership.

Indian Hill High School has once again been named the No. 1 high school in Ohio by Niche. The district is also one of only six in the nation to earn the prestigious AASA STEM Designation.

Excellence spans all grade levels: Indian Hill Primary School, Indian Hill Elementary School, and Indian Hill High School each earned the Ohio STEM Designation, while the Ohio STEM Learning Network (OSLN) recognized Indian Hill as a leader among leaders in STEM education.

Brave family – we start the 2025-2026 school year with all of this incredible news to share, and it will be delivered to your mailbox this month in our Fall IH Promise newsletter, available digitally now!

Our mission remains clear: to provide an unmatched educational experience across academics, arts, and athletics.

The #IHPromise in Action

The way we LEAD NOW is through strategic planning and action. Now in the fourth year of our ever evolving #IHPromise strategic plan, we continue to strengthen our commitment to developing Learners as Doers, Learners as Individuals, and Learners as the Whole Child. Our work focus is on three powerful practices: cultivating Leadership, Building Thinking Classrooms, and expanding Project Based Learning, and we are setting the stage to engage our team in developing the next iteration of our plan – our IH Promise.

A Brave Year Ahead

Thank you for entrusting us with your children and for supporting the mission and vision of the Indian Hill School District. With the foundation of recent achievements and the passion of our world-class educators, we look forward to another year of making student dreams a reality.

Brave Family: LEAD NOW!

In service to our children,

Kirk Koennecke

CEO/Superintendent
Indian Hill School District
