FLORENCE, Ky. (AP) — The Family Nurturing Center will bring back its signature fundraising gala, Prom for a Purpose, for the fifth consecutive year, inviting community members to relive the magic of a prom night while supporting vital family services.

Presented as a gala-style evening with food, dancing and entertainment, Prom for a Purpose 2026 encourages attendees to dress in attire that ranges from throwback prom outfits to contemporary cocktail wear. The event aims to generate contributions through ticket and table sales, a silent auction and sponsorship opportunities.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Family Nurturing Center’s mission to cultivate safe children, thriving families and nurturing communities across Northern Kentucky and the Cincinnati area. The nonprofit provides free programs and services in education, counseling, parenting support and community prevention — serving more than 10,000 individuals each year.

Organizers said Prom for a Purpose is more than a night out. It’s a community-building effort that helps sustain critical services that might otherwise be unavailable to families with limited resources. Last year’s event raised more than $200,000 during an evening that drew hundreds of participants, featured silent auction packages and included music, dancing and other festivities.

“This event allows friends, families and community partners to come together for a meaningful cause,” organizers said in materials promoting the fundraiser. “Each ticket, bid and sponsorship directly supports our work strengthening family relationships and preventing child abuse.”
