Veteran music educator to be honored as part of the annual Hamilton Co. ESC celebration
The Indian Hill Exempted Village School District announced that longtime music educator Chris Rotsching has been selected as a recipient of the Hamilton County Educational Services Center (ESC) Celebration of Excellence Award. Rotsching, who has dedicated 34 years to teaching, including 31 years at Indian Hill, has left an enduring legacy on generations of students and the district’s renowned band program. Over the course of his distinguished career, he has conducted more than 650 performances, inspiring excellence both in and beyond the classroom.
“Mr. Rotsching’s legacy is one of dedication, growth, and deep care for students,” said Indian Hill Superintendent Dr. Melissa Stewart. “For more than three decades, he has elevated our band program while building meaningful relationships that extend far beyond graduation. This recognition from the Hamilton County ESC is a well-deserved celebration of a career defined by excellence and influence.”
Rotsching’s dedication extends beyond the classroom. He recently organized an experience for Indian Hill Middle School Jazz Band student-musicians to engage with the iconic Blue Wisp Big Band, further enriching their musical journey and connecting them to the broader arts community.
“Chris Rotsching represents the very best of Indian Hill Middle School,” said Indian Hill Middle School Principal Dr. Lauren Gentene. “His unwavering commitment to excellence, his passion for music, and his ability to inspire students year after year have made a profound and lasting impact. He not only develops exceptional musicians, but also confident, disciplined, and creative young people.”
