Northern Kentucky Woman Creates Platform for Volunteers and Nonprofits to Connect

Have you ever thought about volunteering —but didn’t know where to start? Northern Kentucky resident Susan Kinsella has created Our Community C@N. As a long-time non-profit fundraiser, leader and volunteer, Kinsella wanted to help neighbors connect with meaningful opportunities to give back to their community.

“Many people want to give back to their community, but don’t know where to begin.” Shares Kinsella, who is the Founder and CEO of Our Community C@N. “Opportunities can feel scattered, hard to find, or difficult to navigate. At the same time, nonprofits often struggle to reach new volunteers and fill critical roles.”

Our Community C@N is changing that. Designed as a centralized, user-friendly platform, Our Community C@N connects individuals with local volunteer opportunities while empowering nonprofits to promote their needs in one accessible place.

The goals are simple: remove barriers, increase engagement, and strengthen the community through service. Our Community C@N is tailored to local needs by curating volunteer opportunities in Kenton, Campbell, and Boone Counties with a bi-weekly e-newsletter listing a wide variety of opportunities to engage individuals, as a family or group, or corporate project.

For community members, subscribing to Our Community C@N means:  discovering volunteer opportunities in one place, finding causes that align with personal interests and availability, taking the guesswork out of getting involved, and making a tangible impact in the community.

For nonprofits, the platform offers a powerful (and free) way to: submit and promote volunteer opportunities, reach new audiences and expand their volunteer base, share needs, and increase visibility and community engagement.

Kinsella shares, “Our Community C@N exists because we know people want to help—they just need a clear path. Bringing nonprofits and volunteers together in one place, we’re making it easier than ever to get involved and make a difference.”
