Cincinnati Country Day School Students Step Into Highly Selective Summer Programs

This summer, Cincinnati Country Day School students are stepping into highly selective academic and career-focused programs, continuing a strong tradition of students seeking real-world learning, even during school breaks.

Students are pursuing these opportunities across a range of highly selective programs. Audrey de Alarcon `27 (Indian Hill) will explore physician pathways through TAP MD, while Liv Sweeney `27 (Milford) and Charli Fangman `27 (Loveland) will focus on nursing and patient care in TAP RN. Noor Machmouchi `27 (Mason) was accepted into the University of Cincinnati’s Medical Sciences Summer Institute, where she will gain exposure to advanced medical study.

Ray Chen `28 (Cincinnati) was accepted into Yale Young Global Scholars in Innovations in Science and Technology. Minna Vens `27 (Indian Hill) and Nicolas Frietas `27 (Mariemont) will attend the Leadership Seminar and the Summer Scholars programs at the University of Notre Dame, and Rui Guan `27 (Milford) will study Foodservice Management Essentials at Cornell. Gertrude Lazarus `27 (Milford) will spend the summer assisting with research at the University of Cincinnati’s Department of Psychology, working alongside professionals in a university lab setting. In the field of advanced computing, Eric Niu `27 (Indian Hill) was selected for the Ohio Supercomputer Summer Institute, an extremely competitive program that accepts only 20 students from across the state. Shria Iyengar `28 (Mason) has been accepted to PROMYS (Program in Mathematics for Young Scientists), a highly selective six-week summer program at Boston University that admits approximately 80 students each year. 

“It’s exciting to see our students garner such wonderful opportunities for the summer,” says Sarah Beyreis, director of college counseling and external opportunities. “Programs like these, alongside their Country Day education, give our students a real advantage. When they get to college, they’re ready to dive in.”
