YWCA Greater Cincinnati names Carolyn Hefner and Chief Development Officer 

Veteran nonprofit executive brings extensive fundraising, strategic growth and community leadership experience.

YWCA Greater Cincinnati has named Carolyn Hefner as Chief Development Officer, bringing an accomplished nonprofit executive and fundraising leader to the organization as it continues to expand its impact across the region.

In her new role, Hefner will lead the organization’s development strategy, including major gifts, corporate partnerships, foundation relations, special events, annual giving and philanthropic engagement to support YWCA Greater Cincinnati’s mission of eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.

“Carolyn is a proven leader who understands how to connect mission with community investment,” said Rickell Howard Smith, President and CEO of YWCA Greater Cincinnati. “Her experience building sustainable fundraising programs, cultivating transformational donor relationships, and working alongside boards and executive leadership teams will be invaluable as we continue to grow our impact and serve more women and families throughout our region.”

Hefner brings more than a decade of leadership experience advancing mission-driven organizations through strategic growth, financial sustainability and community engagement. Most recently, she served as Chief of External Affairs for the Contemporary Arts Center, where she oversaw development, marketing and communications efforts while partnering with leadership and the Board of Trustees to advance institutional strategy and long-term sustainability.

Prior to the Contemporary Arts Center, Hefner served as Director of Development for Mayerson Academy and has also held leadership roles at Camp Joy, Cincinnati Museum Center and Music Resource Center.

A Cincinnati resident, Hefner holds a Graduate Certificate in Museum Studies and Non-Profit Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of Cincinnati.
