Despite the sporadic rain, today’s Flea in the Fort drew a happy (albeit sometimes soggy) crowd for its dozens of vendors, live music from Kryst Kruer, West Sixth Brewing, food trucks and more.
Locals and visitors, some with dogs in tow, enjoyed perusing the wares that local food vendors and creatives had for sale.
Artists today included Diana Cendales of Wisdom Tree. Known for her whimsical murals around Fort Thomas and beyond, Cendales shared that several years ago, she traveled to South America and discovered a profound love of nature. Growing on this, she began repurposing natural materials that would be considered waste (like orange rinds and melon seeds) into the bespoke jewelry pieces she creates for Wisdom Tree.
Angie King, owner of Homegrown on Haubner Hill (California, KY) was also dodging raindrops and selling bouquets and stems from her flower farm. If you missed her at Flea in the Fort, she offers U-Pick flower events at her farm.
Held several times each summer, Flea in the Fort is a handmade artisan craft show set up at the Mess Hall and is free to attend.
The next Flea in the Fort is on Sunday, October 4th from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
