Indian Hill High School Senior Nathan Chamot Organizes First-Ever Run for Tourette 5K, Raising More Than $33,000 for Awareness and Support

Indian Hill High School senior Nathan Chamot turned personal challenge into powerful advocacy by founding the inaugural Run for Tourette 5K, held on November 8th at Winton Woods Park. The event, created to raise awareness and support for individuals with Tourette Syndrome, generated more than $33,000 for the Tourette Association of America (TAA) and united 150 participants from across the region, making it the largest Transformation Teal Fundraiser in the nation.

Chamot, a cross-country runner and Youth Ambassador for the TAA, was diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome at age 13 after years of unexplained tics. His journey inspired him to build a platform that provides connection, understanding, and visibility for others living with the condition. With an estimated 50 percent of individuals with Tourette Syndrome remaining undiagnosed, Chamot’s mission focuses on breaking stigma and ensuring others feel seen and supported.

“My biggest goal was to create a space where people could come together, learn, and know they aren’t alone,” said Chamot. “The support from our community was overwhelming, and I’m proud that we were able to make a meaningful impact for families affected by Tourette Syndrome.”

The event saw strong involvement from Indian Hill students, families, and community members. Indian Hill High School Principal Andy Gruber praised Chamot’s leadership and vision.

“Nathan exemplifies what it means to be an Indian Hill Brave,” said Principal Andy Gruber. “His determination to transform his personal experience into an opportunity for education, advocacy, and community-building is nothing short of inspiring. We are incredibly proud of the impact he has made and the legacy he is creating for future Braves.”
